Welcome to My Skin and I. This is a blog devoted to my skin condition, Psoriasis. I will be writing about my experiences, feelings and generally how I cope with Psoriasis. I hope others will join me in sharing their experiences and helping others learn how to get through this. There may not be a definite cure for Psoriasis but together we can at least help each other to cope the best we can and enjoy life.
Here there will be no doctors, nurses or pharmaceutical companies. It is for people, like me, who suffer from the condition, our families and our friends to help understand what Psoriasis does to us, not just what it looks like.
Expect some serious moments, some tongue in cheek and some downright off the wall as I go into a fantasy world where Psoriasis is a person who talks back every now and then.
As for me, I am Simon, now in my forties, married to a very patient and supportive wife. No kids, just one cat called Bob who also features now and then as the official unofficial mascot of Psoriasis Awareness. My passions are food (cooking and dining out), music (BB King, Sinatra & Co, Elvis, Buddy Holly, Jersey Boys), Theatre and my geek side which is Doctor Who, X-Men, Lord of the Rings, Star Wars etc.
I am available, when I can fit it in around my 9-5 job, for public speaking, guest blogs and generally any psoriasis awareness projects. Although I find most of this seems to be Monday to Friday during the day so please don’t be offended if I decline due to personal and work commitments. Rates are reasonable and sometimes free dependent on the event. Please note I am based in the UK but up for free holidays for me and my wife.
