A company called smartpatient recently got in touch with me asking for my opinion on a new app to help patients of long term conditions including psoriasis. As it is only on Apple at the moment I have not been able to use it myself and thought I would share it so anyone out there with an I-phone or similar fruity product can take a look.
The app is called MyTherapy and includes features such as:
- A task manager so you never miss an appointment or skip your medication,;
- A progress monitor so you can see what has and hasn’t worked and, most importantly, how much you are improving;
- Patient diary, which can be used to log how you’re feeling on any day, how long it takes for treatments to kick in and how many times you use certain treatments.
I have been assured that patient information is not shared and are very strict about security standards. There is also a function to aid privacy so if you set an alarm for your next therapy, whatever it may be, you can choose to show the exact name of your treatment or just that you need to manage your therapy.
The development of the app is ongoing and smartpatient are happy to receive feedback to improve the app further. I have been really impressed with the insight I have had and in talking to the Natascha who is one of the developers. This is an app for the patient so you the patient are the ones who can help shape it.
Please note that I am not a developer of this app and should you download it please give your feedback directly to the developers. You can email Natascha directly on email@example.com
